CETIC to partner with National Instruments

Roland Leon ELONGUE from National Intruments visited CETIC on June 11, 2014.

During its meeting on June 11, the CETIC project team welcomed Roland Leon ELONGUE, sales engineer at National Intruments, an American company specializing in virtual instrumentation.
National Instruments (NI) is a company that employs 7,100 people in 41 countries worldwide. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, its activities revolve around the instrumentation and automation in three major areas: hardware, software, services including training.
NI products are used in all fields of science and technology. They are adopted in more than 110 countries where technology is taught in over 7000 universities. In order to make accessible new technologies worldwide, NI enables engineers and scientists to develop local products and services with the aim of improving the living conditions of people in their communities.

hardware and Facilities

NI delivers easy to use and modular solutions for a wide variety of applications ranging from simple data logging to high-performance automated tests, industrial control, advanced embedded control and monitoring.

Software

LabVIEW has been presented as the main software of NI. It is an integrated development environment for interfacing measurement devices and control, analyzing the data and publishing the results. LabVIEW is based on a graphical programming style which accelerates the development of a factor of 4 to 10 with respect to a text-based language.

Services and training

NI offers global service solutions to its customers. These services are designed to meet needs throughout their products (hardware, software) life cycle – from planning and development through deployment and ongoing maintenance. In addition to providing electronic equipment, National Instruments also offers training and certification through Online Courses and On-Site Courses.
During the visit, Mr. Leon ELONGUE presented the activities of his company while insisting on possible cooperation with the academic world. After the presentation, the members agreed with the provision of hardware and software for laboratories CETIC by NI. However, beyond the acquisition of hardware and software, the both parties will think on the form that may take a possible partnership.
